The problem with the knife is that the blade apparently was not heat treated and it will not hold an edge at all. He also was noted for making edged weapons on "the Last of the Mohicans" as I understand and he was a fine man to work with, and a pleasure chatting with. I was quite sorry to hear of his passing a couple years back.
